It's inevitable: at some point your pet will experience a health issue beyond your ability to cure. The Pet Wellness Center is here to help you deal with your dog's issues, such as chronic pain, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, stiffness, anxiety, recovery from injury and surgical recovery. Just when you need it the most, the clinic staff can be there to help your pet.

Have you considered the benefits of a holistic approach for pet illnesses? For example, even though it's a 2,000-year-old method from China, acupuncture still works wonders today.

Our Pet Wellness Clinic can help you perform this healing art on your dog.

What does acupuncture do?

  1. Acupuncture can relieve pain.
  2. Acupuncture improves your pet's immunity.
  3. Acupuncture improves organ function.
  4. Acupuncture works with (rather than fights) conventional medicines.
  5. Acupuncture does not include dangerous side effects.
  6. Acupuncture is a relaxing procedure.

What is involved in the procedure?

This procedure lasts 30-60 minutes. Extra thin needles are inserted into specific areas of your animal's body. This seems like it would be painful, but it's usually a relaxing experience for your pet--they might even fall asleep! Both cats and dogs have about 365 acupuncture areas in their bodies. The procedure releases endorphins (that's the body's feel-good hormone). These hormones cause the pets' blood vessels to dilate, directly controlling the pain. More oxygen and nutrient-rich blood flow to the afflicted joints and muscles.

What conditions will acupuncture aid?

Acupuncture can help conditions such as muscle spasms, slipped disks, digestive problems, chronic kidney disease, hip dysplasia, epilepsy, paralysis and many other problems.

We encourage a visit to the Pet Wellness Center to determine whether surgery or an acupuncture (or a mixture of both) is right for your pet. Contact us to get started on your journey.
