Canine Rehabilitation

Intermountain Pet Hospital is proud to offer dog owners special canine rehabilitation services. One of our veterinarians, Dr. Chad Hunt, can help restore your dog's mobility and quality of life thanks to his advanced training in canine physical therapy from The Canine Rehabilitation Institute.

Details of Canine Rehabilitation

Like physical therapy for humans, canine rehabilitation helps dogs recover their ability to move. It can feature in post-surgery care--or even substitute for surgery--for such conditions as:

  • Cruciate ligament tears
  • Bone fractures
  • Back injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries

Through gait analysis, Intermountain can help uncover hard-to-see pain or lameness in your pet. We offer a variety of therapies that can help restore your dog's mobility, flexibility and muscular strength. Available therapies include:

  • Manual therapy (includes joint mobilization, massaging and stretching)
  • Therapeutic ultrasound
  • Laser therapy
  • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation
  • Therapeutic exercises
  • Weight loss management

Intermountain can also assist with high-performance conditioning and endurance training for canine athletes as well. We can help keep your pets in peak condition for sports like:

  • Gaiting
  • Flyball
  • Weight Pull
  • Hunting
