Because we met our goal of 70 dental cleanings during National Pet Dental Month (a.k.a. February to most people), we are happy to announce that Bingo, a sweet 9 year-old Pomeranian, will be getting his chompers polished up at no cost.
Meet Bingo
Bingo was found near Lake Lowell in Nampa by a family that was on their way to visit grandparents. (Later, this family would find out Bingo was lost due to his owner being in the hospital.) He was trotting along the road, and they scooped him up so a car wouldn’t hit him. He was covered in feces, mud and sticks. The family went door to door in an attempt to locate the owner. Next, they called the local shelters and posted about Bingo on numerous websites and Craigslist. Still no luck.
Bingo is spunky but sweet. He is loving and courageous (as any little dog would be when introduced to a dog 10x his size). He has been gentle and loving with the family’s 4-year old and little girl, who, coincidentally, turned 1 the day after Bingo was found. Talk about a fun birthday present for a little girl who loves animals already!
The staff at Intermountain Pet Hospital was gracious enough to look him over and clean him up. They determined that he was in decent shape, considering his age and circumstances. The family felt overwhelmed at the reality of his dental condition and the cost to fix his neglected teeth. Having just welcomed a new baby into the family and paid for the hospital costs, etc., they didn't have enough left to pay for Bingo’s expensive procedure to remove his teeth, though they desperately wanted to.
After all was said and done, the staff at IPH thought Bingo was a wonderful, deserving candidate to have his periodontal needs treated. His future looks bright, and the family looks forward to giving him love, peace and comfort.
Bingo has been spending time with both his “adopted family” and his original owner. Everyone involved is so thankful he was found. Bingo is proof that we can be happy and healthy during all stages of our lives.
