Meet Dr. Emily Guenthner

Dr. Emily Gunthner

Growing up, Dr. Emily Guenthner always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian.  She said medicine is like a puzzle, with so much variety in the profession, and always wanted to be a voice for the voiceless. And, of course, she loves animals.

Dr. Guenthner is a proud Idaho native. After getting her undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri, she took a big leap to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the island of St. Kitts and Nevis, which is south of the British Virgin Islands. She graduated in 2018.

Dr. Guenthner then came back to the mainland and did a clinical year at the University of Missouri. Then off to Oklahoma State University for a small animal rotating internship. She then moved to Texas, where she did a surgical internship at Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. From Texas, Dr. Guenthner moved to California for about a year, working at a general practice clinic before returning to Idaho to be with her family.

When Dr. Guenthner isn't working, she likes to read manga, build legos, snuggle with her fat cat, and ride her bike when Idaho weather permits.

Her fur babies include Leonard, a retired blood donor greyhound from Missouri, Dancer, a retired racing greyhound from Dallas, and Libby, my domestic short hair cat.
