Comprehensive Behavior Problem Treatment
Sometimes, pets can behave in ways that go against the owner's training. In these cases, Intermountain recommends scheduling a behavior analysis and consultation appointment, which involves:
- Behavior questionnaire—This survey will help our team gather the best and most complete history of the behavioral issue(s).
- Behavior assessment and physical exam—Many pet behaviors stem from a physical condition. A complete physical exam will rule out any underlying health conditions.
- Treatment plan—Depending on the root cause(s) of the behavior, treatment may involve medical intervention or behavior modification training. Our trainers all employ positive modification methods.
- Follow-up consultation—Because fixing behavioral problems takes time, we will check in with your pet and change treatment as needed.
