Bogus Basin and Brundage have gotten some great snow so far this year. As for the Treasure Valley, we've seen a few fluffy inches, but alas, it is mostly gone now. Thankfully more snow is forecasted to come. Kids love it, pets love it, and most parents don't, mainly because it means shoveling and driving on less than ideal roads. Dr. Throne is a native of the Treasure Valley and obtained her B.S. in Biology with a business minor from Boise State University.  Go Broncos! She then went north to complete her DVM at Washington State University in 2011. Following the completion of veterinary school, she moved to northern California to complete a one-year small animal medicine and surgery internship at the VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center. Dr. Throne then worked at a small animal general practice in the area for 6 years before returning to Idaho.

As the summer temperatures spike, it's time for dog owners and dog lovers alike to confront some of the dangers of heat for our canine friends. One of the most dangerous—but sadly still frequent—summertime problem that can arise is when dogs are left alone in hot cars. All too often a dog owner will leave their dog in a parking lot while the temperature of their car goes up to potentially fatal levels.
